Week 5:
The big week was finally here!!! I think it’s safe to say that every group was feeling both excited and nervous to see whether their robot would perform as planned and intended. Before going up for our first attempt of the ‘Tip The Can’ challenge, we wanted to run some quick diagnostics on our robot to make sure that the sensor along with the code were still working fine.
I also measured all the dimensions with my ruler to ensure we were still within the restrictions. We knew we would be quite close to them and thankfully we were just under the limit. Phew!!
We waited our turn to take part and I made sure to record it so that I could include it here. Unfortunately, without a Premium account I cannot upload that attempt. Instead, I have a screenshot from our recorded attempt. We let James step up and be the one to turn on the robot for the test as he had the best understanding of the circuit made for it.

Alas, our robot did not perform as we had hoped and moments after this screenshot, our robot drove off the edge of the platform instead of spinning around to scan for an object. We had to take it back to our work station and triple check everything individually.
It was a little disappointing since we had put in so much work and were sure that it would work fine. What made it a little worse was that we struggled to locate the issue because everything seemed to work fine whenever we tested it at our station. All we could do was try again next week and go from there.
